(Amman, Jordan – November 16, 2008) The Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) visited King’s Academy on Monday, the 10th of November 2008 to give a feature presentation on the King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness for students and teachers of the Academy.

The presentation was given by Mr. Samer Al Kasih, Project Manager of the King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness, and was attended by Mr. Zayed Al-Hayajneh, Head of the Physical Fitness Department at the Ministry of Education.

Al-Kasih expressed his thanks for King’s Academy for hosting this meeting, and highlighted the importance of engaging students in physical fitness exercises, and the effect it has on maintaining ideal health standards for all participants. Adding that the King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness aims at increasing awareness on the importance of physical activity as to become an essential part of daily lifestyles, encouraging students to discover their fitness skills and develop their social and mental abilities to contribute successfully to the society.

In addition, the presentation included a detailed explanation of the goals, standards, and phases of the King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness; as well as the display of a slide show that contained photos of the Project’s various sports activities, followed by a live physical exercise that was carried out by all the attendees.
The visit ended with Ms. Wendy Bradley, Deputy Headmaster for Student Life at King’s Academy thanking Al Hayajneh and Al Kasih for their visit and involvement in this workshop.
